Clare Recreation will be hosting the Outdoor Council of Canada for the Field Guide Certification in Hiking.  (More info on their website here)

Location: CDENE Clare- 1649 Evangeline Trail, Church Point, NS B0W 1M0- Room #104

Time: 9 am to 5 pm (on both days)

Cost: $200 per participant

Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to settle in so that the course can start on time. Participants must attend the full course to receive the Outdoor Council of Canada certificate.

Participants must:

• Review the manual and complete the quizzes (hard copies will not be provided - if you want a printed copy, you will have to print your own)
• Bring their own meals, snacks, beverages, etc. (there will be no time to go off-site for meals)
• Bring pen and paper
• Arrange their own accommodation and transportation
• Dress for the outdoors for the lessons on the trail (rain or shine)
• Bring a leader pack as described in the course manual (including a water bottle, whistle, first aid kit in day pack)
• Have the physical ability to hike on a footpath with rocks and roots, etc.
