Little Brook, NS – October 29, 2020: At the official swearing in ceremony on Wednesday, October 28, Ronnie LeBlanc of District 7 was unanimously appointed Warden of the Municipality of Clare for a third mandate.

The year 2020 marks 20 years in municipal politics for Mr. LeBlanc. He has held the position of Warden since 2012.

“It has been my honour to work for the residents of Clare over these last 20 years,” says Mr. LeBlanc. “I look forward to sitting at the table with Council, municipal staff and business and community stakeholders to continue to find solutions to our challenges and to promote and celebrate our achievements.”

Yvon LeBlanc of District 8, who is serving his second term on Council, was appointed Deputy Warden. Councillors Nil Doucet (District 1), Danny Hill (District 2), Carl Deveau (District 4), Brian Comeau (District 5) Éric Pothier (District 6) and newly elected Councillor Philippe Gaudet (District 3) were also sworn in.

Priorities for Council for the Municipality of Clare include the completion of a high-speed rural Internet project, overseeing a study on low-income housing, improving accessibility in Clare’s public spaces, encouraging a healthy economy through tourism, business opportunities and immigration, ongoing doctor recruitment and preparing for the 2024 Congrès mondial acadien.
