Clare Recreation is gearing up for an exciting Canada Day celebration in 2025!
Join us for a festive day featuring our traditional flag-raising ceremony, live musical performances, a BBQ, family activities, and the always-popular Canada Day Carnival!
Full details on the activities will be shared soon — but in the meantime, we need your help to make this event a success: we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to host a carnival station!
Who is invited to participate?
Community organizations, groups, or sports teams that are looking for a fundraising opportunity and would like to host a carnival station at this year’s Canada Day celebration. This year, Canada Day celebrations will be held at Université Sainte Anne, in front of the Rendez-vous de la Baie Visitor Information Centre.
What is the fundraising opportunity?
Community organizations, groups, or sports teams wishing to participate or who are looking for alternative funding options are invited to host their own carnival game station. The goal is for an engaging, fun day of community and celebration!
All games will cost one ticket to play, and tickets will available for purchase at the information and ticket booth. Tickets will be distributed in increments of 20, on a “pay what you can” basis (cash and high fives accepted). The money collected will be split between participating carnival stations, and the municipality will donate an extra $200 to the carnival booth that collects the most tickets.
How do I participate?
The station
- Must accept only 1 ticket to play
- Stay within a 10’ x 10’ space
- Be run by volunteers from your organisation
- May not contain any food
- Please try and have an accessible game or have an adapted way to play
What’s provided by Clare Rec:
- A 10’ x 10’ canopy tent in the carnival zone
- Small prizes to be given out to game winners (stickers, pins, ribbons, candy)
- A ticket collection bucket
- If requested: basic items like a folding table and chairs
The Event Day:
The event will be held at Université Sainte-Anne in front of the Rendez-vous de la Baie, outdoors.
- Carnival stations need to be set up by 1:30 p.m.
- 2:00 p.m: Flag raising ceremony
- 2:15-5:30 p.m: Carnival stations open! Have your volunteers and carnival game ready to go!
- 5:30-6:00 p.m: Pack up
Why are we doing this?
- This is an effort to create alternative fundraising opportunities while building events that benefit everyone!
- Offering 20 tickets by donation (cash and high fives accepted) keeps activities free for all to play but allows for a fundraising opportunity for community organizations.
- It allows us to showcase the diverse groups, teams, and organizations that proudly make up the fabric of our community!
