CLARE VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRE AND ART EXHIBIT OPEN AT BELLIVEAU COVE FOR 2020 SEASON

Little Brook, NS: For summer 2020, the Clare Visitor Information Centre has moved to Joseph & Marie Dugas Municipal Park in Belliveau Cove to provide tourists and locals with information about the region and to display the works of local artists.

With the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions and the opening of the Atlantic travel bubble, the Municipality of Clare’s Tourism Manager Larry Peach said that now is the right time to promote the Clare area. “Given that the Université Sainte-Anne campus is still closed to the public due to COVID-19, we were unable to open the Rendez-vous de la Baie Visitor Centre. After analysing possible sites within the community, we decided that the Belliveau Cove location—which was at one time the Municipality’s Visitor Information Centre—was the perfect fit.”

Visitor Information Centre Manager Chantal Surette and summer student Marcel Saulnier are on site to answer tourists’ questions. While the issuing of the Clare visitor guide was postponed for 2020, a tear-off map of Clare will be available for visitors. COVID-19 safety measures, such as hand sanitizer and plexiglass dividers, have been put in place to ensure the health and safety of employees and visitors.

Local art will also be on display and for sale on site, thanks to a partnership between the Belliveau Cove Development Commission and Expo d’Art Saint-Bernard. Exhibitors include Alvina LeBlanc, Annette Comeau, Diane Nadon, Nadine Belliveau, Nadine Blinn and Venessa Comeau.

“Many of our organizations have had to think outside the box to cope with COVID-19 restrictions,” stated Mr. Peach. “It is therefore our pleasure to share the space with our talented artists.”

The Clare Visitor Information Centre is located at 3239 Highway 1, Belliveau Cove, NS. It is open on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays to Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., closed Sundays.
