IMPORTANT NOTICE: Closure of Medical Practice – Doctor Michelle Dow

Dear patients,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to inform you that my medical practice will be closing as of June 30, 2025.

It has been an honor to provide care to you over the years, and I sincerely appreciate your trust and support. It is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement!

A new provider will take over your care starting July 1, 2025. You will be notified by mail or email over the next few months regarding the details of your new health care provider. In the meantime, if you have any questions or require assistance, please feel free to contact my office at 902-645-2777.

I deeply appreciate the opportunity to have been your healthcare provider and wish you the best in the future.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Closure of Medical Practice – Doctor Devon Long

Dear valued patients,

After much consideration, I want to inform you that I have made the decision to close my medical practice at the Clare Health Centre (CHC) and permanently transition to working full-time in the Emergency Department (ED). This decision has not been made lightly, and it reflects my passion for providing care in the ED, and serving where I feel there is the most need for my skillset.

My patients will (or have already been) transitioned to another primary care provider at the CHC and no action is required by you to facilitate this process.

I am truly grateful for the trust you have placed in me over the years, and I am excited to continue serving patients in the ED. Thank you for your understanding and support.

The Municipality of Clare would like to thank Doctors Dow and Long for the exceptional services they have provided to our community. We have been very fortunate to rely on Dr. Long's medical services since August 2021 and on Dr. Dow's expertise for over thirty years.

As mentioned in his letter, Dr. Long is moving to a permanent full-time position in the emergency department. We wish him the best of luck in this new chapter of his medical career.

As for Dr. Dow, although her medical practice is closing, she won't be going too far as she will be working as a locum at the Clare Health Centre for the foreseeable future. We will officially celebrate Dr. Dow's outstanding career when she formally retires.
